Traditional Formulas With a Practical History
Isabelle's tinctures were not created simply by assembling lists of fashionable herbs.
Digestive Tonic follows the long European Swedish Bitters tradition, using bitter roots, aromatic botanicals and classic herbal ingredients for broad digestive support.*
Intestinal Defense has a very different history. Isabelle first received that formula from an older African man while she herself was seriously ill in Africa, and she later continued using the recipe during years of practical herbal work there.
That practical history is one reason the two tinctures are kept separate: they were developed from different herbal traditions for distinctly different digestive situations.
