Cascara sagrada (Rhamnus purshiana) is a small tree native to the Pacific Northwest of North America. Its name comes from Spanish - it translates roughly to "sacred bark." The part used in herbal formulas is the dried bark of the tree, which has been used in traditional medicine for centuries.*

How Does It Work?
